HDR Test Targets

The test targets studying the spatial properties of neural contrast have small white and black square that are difficult to see on the printed page.

igure 15.1 Magnified view of two of the twenty gray pairs of luminance patches.  The left half (A) has the same layout as the right (B) rotated 90° counterclockwise.  The gray squares have slightly different luminances: A(top & bottom); B (left &right). Each size of surround blocks has equal numbers of min and max squares.
Figure 15.2 Target with twenty gray pairs of luminance patches.  All gray pairs are close in luminance, but some edge ratios are larger than other.

Figure 15.2 has a 50% White and 50% Black surround.

The target used in Figure 15.4 had a 8% White, 92% Black surround.
